Whole Wheat Chai Molasses Bread

Description:

This recipe is a quick bread, without yeast. For a little extra sweetness, add ½ to 1 cup of raisins or craisins to the batter. Makes two 9 X 4 ½ inch loaves.

Heat oven to 375°F and place rack in center. Lightly grease two 9 x 4 ½” pans with oil. In a large bowl, sift together whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add Chai Tea concentrate, milk, oil, honey and molasses, and stir until well blended. Add in raisins if desired and stir until evenly distributed. Divide batter evenly between the two prepared pans. Even out tops with a spatula. Bake until a cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a rack. Serve, and enjoy! Remaining bread should be refrigerated, or can be frozen.
